Chief Ibe, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organisation of the Igbo people gave the commendation while addressing newsmen in Owerri on Thursday.

Nwosu, the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo in the 2019 elections was arrested by policemen on Dec. 26, 2021.

Nwosu, an in-law to former Imo governor, Rochas Okorocha was abducted while attending the burial outing service of his late mother, Jemaimah Nwosu at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre council area of the state, which was disrupted by this masked killer team that took over the alter of God that faithful day in profanation.

Chief Uche Nwosu

Ibe, who described Nwosu’s arrest as an abduction, and failed assassination motive, he condemned the invasion and desecration of the Church of God as an embarrassment, aberration to Christians all over the world, as this act of wickedness cannot be seen in the mosque anywhere, an insult to the Igbo nation”, hailed the IGP for the prompt arrest of the police men, culprits involved in this shameful, nefarious and though necromantic act.

He urged the IGP not to jeopardise his outstanding reputation and integrity but to unravel the perpetrators of the act as a way of ensuring speedy dispensation of justice and restoring confidence in the Nigeria Police Force intoto

” We commend the IGP for his boldness, level of tolerance and maturity in handling this matter and urge him not to relent until justice is served to the perpetrators of this heinous, dastardly act.

” Sporadic shooting in a place of worship resulting in the disruption of church service constitutes desecration, and indent profanation of the altar of God, demands its cleansing and rededication, and remains an embarrassment to the christian faith and the Igbo nation.

” On behalf of Ndigbo (Igbo people), we appeal to the police to make public the result of their findings so that Nigerians will not misconstrue the powers and activities of the police; and parade these perpetrators as nobody knows who the next victim will be “, he said.

He however appealed to Nwosu to remain law abiding he is always known for, and allow the law take its course. We have implicit confidence in the character and conduct, the hard earned integrity and personality of the Inspector General of Police(IGP) that justice will prevail in this circumstance and will not be compromised under any guise.

He added that that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo would “take legal actions in the absence of substantial results from police investigations after a reasonable length of time” as part of our promise to restore the dignity of Ibo nation.
