The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Insurance, Chief Alan B Onyemaechi has applauded Governor Hope Uzodinma on his great achievements in the health sector especially on the free basic health care for the vulnerable in the State.
The Special Adviser made the commendation during the Monitoring and Evaluation exercise to Health Centers in other to see their level of implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund programme of the State Government in conjunction with Federal Government at Awa Primary Health center in Oguta LGA.
He eulogized His Excellency, Dist. Senator Hope Uzodinma for the wonderful programme, being the first of its kind in the State, where the vulnerable in the State are given access to free basic health care services without having to pay from their pockets.
Chief Alan B also admonished the young mothers who are beneficiaries of the programme to help in spreading the good news by telling others about the programme.
It is worthy to note that the Basic Health Care Provision Fund is a programme of the Governor Hope Uzodinma led administration in conjunction with the Federal Government for the vulnerable in the State. It is target to give free medical services to children 0-5year, pregnant women, the elder of 70 years and above and the physically challenged.

The Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health Insurance, Dr. Okeji Austin while addressing the mothers enlightened them on the benefits of the programme which includes free medical service for pregnant women from antenatal to delivery and that in the case of one needing surgical operation, that the operation will also be carried out free of charge.
He encouraged them to ensure that their children of 0-5 years, the elderly of 70 years and above and the physically challenged among them are also enrolled during the next batch of enrolments to help the government achieve its aim of the programe which is to ensure a healthy society.
The women were full praises to God and the thanked the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for programme as it is the first of its kind in their locality. The team also visited other health centers including Mother and Child Health center, Osuobodo.
