Petroleum Resources Ministry Disclaims Hon.Collins Nwankwo’s Purported Appointment As Chairman, Special Taskforce On Illegal Bunkering

Says No Such Committee Has Been Set-up By the Ministry for Such an Appointment;

Requests Holders of Any Such Appointment Letters to Turn Them in to the Police for Investigation

 

The Ministry of Petroleum Resources has called on the general public to disregard any Letter of Appointment purportedly issued to anyone as Chairman of the Special Taskforce on Illegal Bunkering. While describing any such letters as fake,it said the Ministry has neither set up any such Committee nor issued any such letters.

In a released signed by the Director of Information in the Ministry on behalf of the Permanent Secretary,,Amb.Gabriel Tanimu Aduda,receivers of any such letters of appointment purportedly signed by the Permanent Secretary were advised to turn them in to the nearest police station for investigation.

“DISCLAIMER ON PURPORTED APPOINTMENT OF HON COLLINS NWANKWO AS CHAIRMAN OF THE SPECIAL TASKFORCE ON ILLEGAL BUNKERING,” read:

“The attention of the management of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources has been drawn to some fake letters circulating in the public space on purported appointments made by the Ministry into so-called Special Taskforce on Illegal Bunkering.

“This is to inform the general public that the Ministry has not issued any letter of appointment nor set up a Committee to appoint anyone as Chairperson of the alleged position. Such letters being circulated and given to certain individuals should be disregarded.

“In view of the above, the management of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources wishes to advise any member of the public issued with such letters to report to the police immediately for further investigations”,the release concluded.
