Reports reaching Hotmedia.ng indicate that the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate for the 2023 polls, Bola Tinubu has confirmed Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
Meanwhile, Hotmedia.ng earlier reported in one of its bulletins on Sunday that the vice presidential candidate will be unveiled to President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the leader of the party in his hometown in Daura, Katsina State on Sunday (today).
President Buhari has been in Daura since Friday for the Eid-el Kabir celebration.
Recall that Shettima played a lead role in the pre-presidential primaries campaign of Tinubu.
Shettima, the representative of Borno Central Senatorial District, was a former two-term Governor of Borno State.
Popular socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has made a new assertion about who will win the 2023 presidential elections.
She said the two leading political parties, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC, will have to join forces in order to defeat Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the forthcoming presidential election.
Aisha, who is co-convener of BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group, noted that 2023 is not for big money spenders.
According to her, “The rate at which this is going, the call will soon be for PDP and APC to join forces for any of them to have hope of winning.
“Time is the enemy of politicians that have to spend money for anything to be done and the friend of the politician that the people are ready to spend for.”
