Imo Govt Monitors Implementation Of Basic Healthcare Provision Fund Programme

The Imo state government through Imo health insurance agency reassures it’s commitment to effective and efficient health care delivery services to citizens and residents of the state.

The Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on health insurance agency, Chief Alan B Onyemaechi while on official visit to represent Governor Hope Uzodimma at the Awa Primary Health Centre, Oguta council area to monitor and evaluate the level of implementation of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund Programme being executed by the state government in collaboration with the federal government in the area.

Chief Onyemaechi said Imo State Governor, distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma is highly committed to provide free and quality health care delivery services for residents of the state, more especially pregnant women, children and the less privileged in the state.

The special adviser who described the provision of result-oriented qualitative health carec services as of paramount interest to the state government. He disclosed that Hope Uzodimma’s government had embarked on mass renovation and refurbishing of all public health care institutions, providing them with ulta-modern state of the act equipment and qualified/experienced medical personnel.

Chief Onyemaechi explained that Imo State Basic Healthcare programme which is free of charge for citizens and residents of the state, primarily designed to assist the vulnerable group, the elderly ones, pregnant women and children under 5 years as well as the poor and the needy in the state.

He reassures Governor’s Hope Uzodimma , keen interest to sustain the programme for the welfare of the citizenry and he urged the people to vote massively for the re-election of governor Hope Uzodimma in the forthcoming governorship election for Ndi Imo to reap more dividends of democracy, adding that the three (3) senatorial zones of Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe had endorsed him for re-election already.

Chief Onyemaechi, a seasoned industrialist cum politician assures the people that if Governor Hope Uzodimma got re-elected, he would continue to use his local and international connections to accelerate the pace of development and transformation of the state; warning that doing otherwise by the electorate might result in the discontinuation of the programme by another governor.

IMSHIA Executive Secretary ES/CEO, while lending voice to the people, he explained that the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (B.HCPF) program is being implemented in 11 INEC wards of Oguta in one PHC per INEC ward.

According to him, previous enrolment captured 1.0.66003 in 305 INEC wards in the state who are currently accessing care since April, 2023 till date.

In his words “BHCCPF Health Insurance Program Enrolment 2.0 targets 18,900 enrolless/loves.

The executive Secretary listed 4 Health Insurance Programs of the IMSHIA as BHCPF, formal sector/civil servants, Imocare/informal sector tertiary education social health insurance programme.

Some of the beneficiaries of the program – Ignatius Freeborn Kanu of Ndiudoakpiri Awa, Barbanas Ojiaku of Umuakuchukwu village and secretary – Ward Development Centre (WDC), Juliana Nzeribe (Umuokpara Kalu village) Mrs. Uju Ukaegbu (Umuocha village) and Festus Unachukwu in their various remarks expressed gratitude to Governor Uzodimma for his commitment to alleviate the health hazards of the masses and pledged to vote massively for him in the on-coming November 11 polls. He said.
