Breaking: Ebonyi Government Collaborates with Nexim BankTo Empower Local Investors, Exporters

Collaboration is essence to the success of any organization or business, and it is based on this that the Special Assistant on Solid Minerals Hon. Ozoemena Njoku has been relentless in interfacing with other organizations and financial institutions to make local investors in Ebonyi State benefit enough in his time as the SA on Solid Minerals.

Speaking with the team from NEXIM BANK, Hon. Njoku expressed how passionate he has been to see that Ebonyians and other genuine investors in the State grow in their businesses which in turn will increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.

As we all know, investment in Solid Minerals is capital intensive but with the assistance of some of the Financial Institutions like yours with a low percentage of interest on your loans.

“Our governor, His Excellency Engr. David Nweze Umahi is a visionary leader, that is why he created the Ministry of Solid Minerals knowing what we have, and we are working tirelessly to achieve his dream”. That is why we call on you for assistance.

Reacting to this submission/request, the leader of the team and the Coordinator NEXIM BANK Southeast Region Mr. Kingsley I usifo said “Our main concern is to see people grow and prosper in their businesses not just giving you loans and be collecting interest from you whether you succeeded or not”. That is why we only work with people who actually understand the business they are doing or want to go into. People who are committed, people can actually deliver.


With what I am seeing here and what I know about Ebonyi State, I can assure you that we shall work together. All we need is a serious minded people who can convince us, thank you.

Deacon Elijah O Ituma the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Solid Minerals expressed his lightness over this important meeting. He went further to thank His Excellency Gov. Umahi for the revival of the State economy. He also assured that the Ministry of Solid Minerals is very prepared and always ready for business.

Mrs. Chinagorom Okereke the President Ebonyi Export Club appreciated this move which according to her will take Solid Minerals to the next level. “It is the dream of our dear governor to make Ebonyi economy the number one among others, with non oil products and all hands must be on deck to achieve this wonderful plan.

She further enumerated some export products in Ebonyi State, ranging from Solid minerals,palm oil,cocoa nut, peanut, cashew nuts, fresh vegetables, fruits, cassava, rice yam etc.

“The main challenge we have is fund but I thank God that we now have a financial institution like yours and also economic experts like you in our midst today”. She went further to appeal to the state government to step in, to make the accessibility of this fund easier and faster especially now that His Excellency has made all the villages in Ebonyi state accessible through his road network.

Another personality who was in this meeting Mr. Casimir Irekamba Director Hotmedia also gave his technical advice and further campaign for adequate training for the beneficiaries or recievers of this loan to be able to achieve the desired result. He also suggested that state government to ensure for the sustainability of the loan facility, because the facility and the business is not something of a year or two years program, insisting that this will go far in concretizing the bund between financial institution and the people, he concluded
