A careful view of the video making the rounds where Abba Kyari’s squad of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Responded Team (IRT) arrested a 29 years old Mr Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Mr Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwame, 45 years old drugs mules in Enugu is all the general public needed to know why the Nigeria Police Force and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) are in holy alliance to destroy the nation Police ‘Super Cop’, DCP Abba Kyari.
The disturbing revelations from the video shows that the NDLEA is nothing but a bunch of drug abusers, nation destroyer and a long standing cartel parading itself as a national drugs prohibiting agency. The police earlier statement said that much where it demanded that the NDLEA should arrest and prosecute drugs barons amongst the NDLEA high and not so highly placed officers that openly displace unearned wealth.
The Police sudden turn around that DCP Abba Kyari and four others were on their own in an NTA live interview with the Police Acting Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi yesterday leaves a sour test in the mouth. “The general public should not blame the Police Authority for DCP Abba Kyari’s involvement in the drugs trafficking saga because he was on suspension when the incident occurred”, Olumuyiwa said.
Aside double speaking, after the Police authority mercilessly dressed down the NDLEA for harbouring criminal drugs dealers as staffs of the agency, it’s only unsuspecting and gullible public that can fall for such antics of playing to the gallery. What we can glean from the Nigeria Police and NDLEA new found love could be better seen as corruption united front to cover up for a well established drugs cartel. Many have alleged that the Nigeria Police and NDLEA have drugs syndicate network that have lasted over several decades. It was reported that Abba Kyari and four others were merely poor folks who tried to turn the table against entrenched drugs merchants in the nation’s security architecture.
Probing questions have been asked as to how the two drug carriers and their goods leave the Airport? Why did the NDLEA not raise the alarm? And at what point did the police arrested these guys outside the Airport? As has been revealed from the said video, Abba Kyari’s boys made the wrong move by arresting drug mules who had NDLEA officers at Enugu airport on their payroll. The two arrested drug couriers confirmed that the modus is for the transnational drug barons to conspire with the NDLEA officers on duty and send them their pre-boarding photographs for identification, seamless clearance, and unhindered passage out of the airport with the narcotics being trafficked. So, its either that Abba Kyari and NDLEA are business partners and one party betrayed the other or NDLEA are the the real drug cartels destroying our nation.
NDLEA officers at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu have been a part of their lives since 2021. The two drug couriers arrested also said that they have been working together with the officers since then. They were leaving with the drugs when they were stopped by the police. Apparently, contrary to what NDLEA wants Nigerians to believe, this is an inter-agency rivalry that is common with our armed officers, as NDLEA senior officers are enraged and angry that Abba Kyari arrested drug mules that their boys at the airport had cleared to leave.
So, an informant for the drug cartel used Abba Kyari and four others to play a smart one. The other members of the cartel don’t like it, so they have now decided to move against Abba Kyari and his gang using the same NDLEA that cleared the drug mules. The point is that senior NDLEA officers are angry that a rogue police officer tried to sell cocaine that had been seized from smugglers. That is their turf and the side hustle NDLEA officers do by the side that give them so much money and not what a common police officer should get involved in.
Abba Kyari and four others are expected to name the people they sold the seized cocaine to and the informant among the drug cartel that has NDLEA on their payroll that gave the drug mules away to Abba Kyari and four others. To be sure, if Abba Kyari boys didn’t make the move to arrest two drugs smugglers who have been cleared by NDLEA officials, stationed at the Enugu airport, we would not have heard about this cocaine story as business would have continued as usual between NDLEA senior officials and the drug cartel that own the cocaine.
The sinister conspiracy by the State to asphyxiate the likes of Abba Kyari for their radical life changing ideas for the ultimate good of Nigeria has been long in coming. From inventors to scientists, writers etc, it’s been tales of woe as these people are forced out of the system to go on self imposed exiles for self actualization.
The image of the Nigerian Police Force has been rather putrid right from the time of the dark and gory days of military rule where the latter greatly sabotaged the activities of the former. The military saw the police as competitors and grossly underfunded them and turned them into modern day mendicants who unleashed their venom on the hapless members of the public.
Now, Nigerians have suddenly forget that DCP Abba Kyari has always stand out as a super cop who was the epitome of the ideal police officer that Nigerians could only dream and wish for. He cracked several crime puzzles most notably the arrest of the dreaded kidnapper Evans and many Terrorists, Bandits, Kidnappers and armed robbers at the risk of his life and that of his loved ones. So brave and dedicated to duty was he that the House of Representatives gave him an honour for outstanding Service to the Nation 2020 and Presidential Medal of Courage from the President of Nigeria 2016 and security pundits tipped him to be the IG of Police in the nearest future.
Nigerians should beware of media trials which has been the bane of our adversarial judicial system. Let the investigative bodies do their job thoroughly. If Kyari goes down, it will spell doom for the Police Force and by extension Nigeria as there will no longer be any raison d’etre for officers to go the extra mile to tackle the hydra headed monster called crime and drugs mules across the length and breathe of the Nigeria State. It will make the officers lukewarm and easily compromised to do the bidding of unscrupulous elements at the right price.
The video confession of the two drugs mules that exposed the NDLEA for what it is, is weighty enough to let Kyari off the hook; it must be admissible by the PSC the leadership of NDLEA so that the super cop can rejoin his colleagues in the noble task of effectively battling crime and making the country a safer haven for all, including his adversaries and critics.
