Report reaching Hotmedia.ng, have revealed that the former governor of Imo State, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim have formally defected to the All Progressives Congress APC.
Ohakim was govenror of Imo State from 2007 till 2011.

Ikedi Ohakim is Isiala Mbano born politician, who govern imo state in only single term of 4 years, he has been moving from one political Party to another since he left office as the Governor of Imo State in 2011 after being defeated by Senator Rochas Okorocha in the 2011 General Elections, which he contested under the platform PDP as an incumbent governor then.
One recall that in 2007, Ohakim won the seat of dauglas house in the platform of PPA, barely a year he defected to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from PDP in 2018, Ikedi Ohakim Joined APGA,
In the 2019 he ran again for the Governor of Imo State in the platform of Accord Party.

Immediately Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha emerges the Governor of Imo State,. Ohakim joined Rt Hon Ihedioha and was appointed by Emeka Ihedioha administration as Chairman of Clean up and was a Frontliner in Ihedioha’s administration.
Now the Senator Hope Uzodinma APC government.
Ohakim had been silent over his intentions, and kept his decision to join the APC a close guarded secret, known only to himself.

But now, he has finally defects to All Progressive Congress, APC. With his entrance into the party, there is belief that the party would be further strengthened in Okigwe zone, where the party haven’t been doing very well in recent times.
Ohakim is a close friend of the govenror of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, contesting in 2003, as his deputy, before himself becoming govenror in 2007.
His move to the APC will come with a lot of advantage and experience, to the Hope Uzodinma administration.
