The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has taken back the Police Mobile Force (PMF) officers who were previously assigned to prominent individuals, including Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari, and his brother, Mallam Mamman Daura.
This withdrawal also affects other notable figures such as Boss Mustapha, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Iyorchia Ayu, a former Senate President.
A Police Wireless Message obtained by Channels Television on Monday contained the directive for this withdrawal.

The Nigerian Police Force has been conducting an ongoing assessment and reorganization of security details, leading to this decision.
The objective is to optimize the deployment of police personnel and ensure the efficient use of resources in light of the current security challenges in the country.
It is important to emphasize that the withdrawal of PMF personnel from these prominent individuals does not imply any specific threat or security breach. Rather, it reflects a broader effort to streamline security arrangements to address the changing security requirements of the nation.
Although the affected individuals will no longer have PMF officers exclusively assigned to their protection, it should be noted that they will still benefit from other security measures provided by relevant agencies.
