Just In: Hoodlums Attack SDP Campaign Office In Rivers State

The facility which is located Nonwa community of Tai Local Government Area of the state has been destroyed by the hoodlums.

Some yet-to-be-identified political hoodlums on Sunday morning attacked the campaign office of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe.

This was disclosed in a tweet made by SuperFM, claiming that the facility which is located Nonwa community of Tai Local Government Area of the state has been destroyed by the hoodlums.

“Suspected political thugs in the early hours of today attacked the campaign office of the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP Senator MAGNUS ABE in Nonwa community of Tai Local Government Area and destroyed the facility,” the radio station tweeted.

The media earlier reported several attacks connected to political activities ahead of the 2023 general elections.

For instance, in September, it was reported that gunmen suspected to be political thugs loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) attacked members of the Labour Party during their meetings in Enugu State.

It was gathered that the attack happened during ward meetings at Aninri and Awgu local government areas of the state.

Sources told our correspondent that while nobody was killed in the attack, some people were injured while their cars, chairs and canopies were vandalised.
