Adamawa Federal lawmaker representing Gombi Hong Federal Constituency and Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs, House of Representatives,Rt.Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, has congratulated all Muslims in his Constituency and Nigeria at large on the occasion of this year’s end of the Ramadan fast.

While wishing them a joyful Eid-el Fitr celebration which marks the end of the 30-day Ramadan fast and the beginning of the month of Shawwul, the lawmaker prays God to accept the prayers and acts of piety of the faithful,forgive their sins and cause all to enjoy the reward of their sacrifice.
Buba also urges the Muslim faithful to use the occasion of this year’s EId- el Fitr to pray for the return of peace in Nigeria and the world where cases of violence,insecurity,armed banditry,, kidnapping and the COVID 19 pandemic have characterised much part of our daily lives these past years. He adds that,except the hands of Allah touch the hearts of those who perpetrate crimes and violence in society,no amount of military campaigns,as the Nigerian experience has shown,will bring a change of hearts in those who carry out these anti- human vices.
While praising the efforts of those who struggle day and night to keep Nigeria safe,the lawmaker enjoins those who celebrate this beautiful season of the EId to show love, sacrifice and good neighborliness to those who do not have to eat and to all those whose breadwinners are either deceased or at present in the different theatres of conflict across the country; adding that,it is only by so doing that the joy of the world will be complete.
Buba thanks all Muslim faithful for their commitment to national peace and security, as exemplified in their preaching in the course of the ending Ramadan season, and also urges them to continue with the fervency with which they prayed for the nation during the period, pointing out that our country is daily becoming such a place where no day passes without very disturbing news of death and burgeoning crime rates and that it takes prayers to change the things against which we appear helpless.

Finally, Rt.Hon.Buba,also,reminds all those celebrating this season to bear in mind that the dreaded COVID 19 pandemic,even though crushed,is still far from being dead. He says the purported discovery of a new strain of the virus from India in some States of the Federation makes it even more imperative for Nigerians not to let their guards down in this season of joy and sharing.
He adds that it is only proper to observe all prevention protocols and do the very common things like constant hand- washing,wearing of face shield/mask,use of alcohol- based sanitizers and social distancing through which our country has these past months reduced the number of infections and level of contracting the disease.
The lawmaker prays for a fun-filled and peaceful celebrations.
