The attention of Ugwuayi New Media has been drawn to a false and unfounded publication made by a faceless twitter user named Fisayo Soyombo, and published under a blog called “Foundation for Investigative Journalism”.

We would not have glorified such a fabricated pigswill with a response, but for the sake of the reading public, it has become necessary to debunk the malicious concoction which is only intent on stoking hate. One would have have ordinarily expected the blog to live by its name and conduct proper investigation before going public to spew falsehood and deceive the people. It is rather unfortunate that they chose to drag the name of the Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, into their mischief.

It has become, therefore, important to state clearly and unequivocally that the Governor has no hands in the death or imprisonment of Ikechukwu Enyinnaya. To put the facts straight, the Governor has never met him either in person or by proxy and has never had any dealings whatsoever with him.
The facts available indicate that Enyinnaya who has been sick before now, collided with some individuals to sell a parcel of land belonging to the Community. Owing to this, the Traditional Ruler called Albert Ukuta, along with the President-General and other leaders of the Community at their own will, wrote a petition to the Police and challenged the action of their kinsman, Enyinnaya and his cohorts. A copy of that petition was sent to the Office of the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Mrs. Cecelia Ugwu, who has been handling boundary related disputes.
Hotmedia.ng gathers also that the said matter was also taken to a court of competent jurisdiction, and in conformity with the principle of separation of powers, the Executive could not act on it anymore. So, it was impossible for the State Government to interfere in it.

Ugwuanyi New Media reveals, Another height of mischief in the publication is the name of the Traditional Ruler of Igga Community which was written as Herbert Ugwuanyi. The characters behind this ungodly act must have wished to mislead the reading public into believing that the Governor is in one way or the other related to the Traditional Ruler. The real name of the Traditional Ruler is H.R.H. Albert Ukuta.
Finally, the Reading public must never give in to the machinations of mischief makers whose deepest intention is to distract the Governor who is unrepentantly committed to the overall development and stability of Enugu State through the provision of sustainable and associated infrastructure, sound economic policies and massive human capital development.
