Julius Ihonvbere, the House of Representatives member representing Owan Federal Constituency is caught in the bid of building multibillion naira world class hotel in Benin City while one or two of the makeshift school buildings he erected are collapsing.
The pictures of the hotel under construction making the rounds situated at NO 47A, Ahionbare Street, off Ihama road in Government Reserve Area (GRA) depicts massive edifice, which a structural engineer says would gulp several billions of naira to complete.
“Julius Ihonvbere told us in 2019 that he was not contesting for the position of House of Representatives to either build a new house or hotel for himself as he has already achieved those over the years.
“But the first thing he did as soon as he was voted into office was to demolished and scrapped his house from foundation in Uzebba and rebuilt same with glitz and glamour.
“We can’t afford another wasteful four years in our lifetime burnishing and furnishing the selfish interests of old politicians who trade with the people every four years, his APC party member who craves anonymity told press men in Benin City.
Our investigation revealed that the premises were the multibillion naira hotel is being constructed originally houses Ihonvbere’s resident on the same spot.
