Job Creation: SNP Partners South Korea To Establish Ethanol Four Plants In Nigeria To Support Over 500.000 Cassava Out Growers.

Save Nigeria Project, SNP Partners with South Korea To Establish four different plants of ethanol in four different states of the Federation namely, Osun, Kwara, Enugu and Akwa Ibom

According to report by President of Save Nigeria Project, SNP, Chief Dr Charles Chukwu reported that SouthKorea firm, in partnership with Save Nigeria Project, SNP set tosign a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to establish a cassava-based ethanol plants in Osun, Akwa Ibom, Kwara and Enugu States.

President of Save Nigeria Project, SNP Chief Dr Charles Chukwu said that the initiative underscores the president Tinubu’s administration commitment to advancing Nigeria’s bio-energy value chain and promoting sustainable development, the report stated.

“This initiative and project is a testament to our collective efforts at Save Nigeria Project to support the Nigerian government’s commitment to transitioning to clean cooking fuel. By facilitating the production and use of ethanol derived from cassava, we are taking a vital step towards reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and embracing renewable energy sources,” he said.

The SNP President added that through the development of a domestic ethanol production industry, Nigeria will reduce its reliance on imported cooking fuels and, in turn, safeguard its economy against global market fluctuations, the report added.

Chief Dr Chukwu reveals that Save Nigeria Project, SNP will employ the structure of the unemployed youth association of nigeria, UYAN for the manpower of the industry to create jobs for the unemployed youths thereby reducing unemployment rate in the country.

According to Dr Chukwu Agriculture provides an income and employment for more than 75% of the population of Nigeria

According to the Nigeria Energy Transition Plan, 175 million people in Nigeria (87% of the population) lack access to clean cooking.

The development of a domestic ethanol production industry, will reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported cooking fuels.

“SNP President Chief Dr Charles Chukwu listed the potential benefits accruing of the project”:

Economic Growth: The bioethanol project promises to generate substantial economic activities through the establishment of processing plants, creating jobs and spurring ancillary industries.

Energy Security: With bioethanol as an alternative fuel source, Nigeria can reduce its dependence on non-renewable energy, thereby enhancing energy security and promoting environmental sustainability.

Agricultural Development: This initiative will motivate farmers to increase cassava production, improving income levels and livelihoods in rural areas.

Skill Acquisition and Technology Transfer: The partnership will facilitate the transfer of advanced technologies and skills to local communities, fostering innovation and capacity building within the State.
