Official Lauds New Forensic Institute On Fight Against Financial Malfeasance

Commends the Buhari Administration on Efforts at Repositioning Nigeria for Deeper Global Respect

Following his induction as a member of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria, which took place at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja,Friday,a foremost professional and public servant,Haruna Gabi, has commended members of the Governing Council and Management of the Institute for their far-sighted vision in strengthening the capacities of various professionals in government and the private sector to not only become better at their professional endeavours, but also in the fight against corruption in high places.

Mr Gabi,a Director of Finance and Administration at the Hydro-electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission ( HYPPADEC),who spoke to us at the event also lauded the outgoing Buhari Administration for its committed efforts to bequeath to the world a Nigeria that works and seeks for a respectable place in the comity of nations.

In his words:
“We remain quite impressed at all that we have seen here today. Everything from the training exercises to the induction process and ,even, refreshment, are all top- notch. We commend the leaders of the Institute for the very laudable vision they have brought to bear on the search for quality training and expertise in all that we individually do in various fields of endeavour in our country as individuals.

“Now,we are glad to be associated with what this outgoing Administration has been able to achieve in its vision to win respect for our country among the nations of the world. We pledge to uphold the high tenets of integrity, probity and honesty ,which the Institute preaches and,on a personal level,I am glad that I have been chosen to be among these trailblazers that will join other institutions of government and non-state actors to strengthen the efforts and the momentum already built in the critical areas of crime-fighting, campaign against official malfeasance and the provision of solutions to many formerly unanswered questions in several sectors of our socio-political life using forensics.”

Earlier, President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institute,Dr. Iliyasu Buba Gashinbaki, praised President Muhammadu Buhari for breaking the jinx of a Bill that had moved through the ranks of the two Chambers of the National Assembly in the last two decades without getting the requisite signature of any of the past Presidents. He observed that, without the persistent efforts of the sponsor of the Bill at the House of Representatives,Rt.Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub,Member representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency, and Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the then Bill would have for the umpteenth time suffered another severe aborted fate.

Dr. Gashinbaki also commended the consummate efforts of Sen.Prof.Ajayi Boroffice at the Nigerian Senate ,who, equally, made all necessary commitment, amid stiff opposition, and ensured that the then Forensics Bill received concurrent passage as law at the Senate. Consequent upon the efforts of the national lawmakers, they became the first whose induction to the Institute’s Hall of Fame was approved by the Council. Rt. Hon.Buba,as a result of the above , became the first to achieve that milestone as Sen. Borrofice was conspicuously absent at the occasion.
