…As Ohanaeze PG Knocks Imo APC
The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, the Apex Igbo socio -cultural organization, High Chief Chidi Ibe, MFR, affirmed that there is no vacant seat in the Ohanaeze Ndigbo presidency.
He warned those skimming to take over as the president General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide to desists from such kangaroo activities and illegal actions because he remains the authentic President General (PG) duely elected, his tenure has not elapsed.
This is coming as there are plots by the factional Ohanaeze group to illegally install Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as the next President General of Ohaneze.
While speaking to the journalists in Owerri, the Imo State capital on friday, 28th April, 2023. High Chief Ibe maintained he was duly and overwhelmingly elected on the 9th of January, 2021 as the President General (PG) to pilot the affairs of the Igbo umbrella body for 4 years as stipulated in the Constitution of Ohaneze.
He said: “I still remain the authentic President General of Ohanaeze, untill a court of competent jurisdiction proves otherwise”.
The Imo state former Commissioner of Information and Strategy warned those parading themselves as Elders Council of APC extraction who reportedly endorsed Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu for the exalted office to retract their step, as such action and intention portray charade and childish of a man widely respected to allow himself been ridiculed by obnoxious circumstances.

He maintained that he was duly elected and issued with a certificate of office by the chairman of the Electoral Panel Prince Richard Ozobu (PhD), adding that it is laughable to see those Elders of the APC extraction coming to mediate in a matter that is subjudicial because the matter is already pending at the Federal High Court Abuja adding that nobody has the right to undermine the powers of the judiciary especially when a matter is subjudice.
He said: “the matter is pending in court, between Chidi Ibe and the late Prof. George Obiozor, at the point of this briefing, our application is still pending and we are praying the court to determine who is the authentic President General”
Engr. Ibe advised the APC Elders to wait and allow the court to exercise their Constitutional function by administering justice and fair disposition of the matter pending before it, adding that if they so wish otherwise they should join the matter in the court as an interested party.
According to the law, the acclaimed APC Elders Council lacks the “locus standi” to mediate in affairs of Ohanaeze Ndigbo as their strength to do so is absolutely infinitisemal.
He stressed that: “there is no vacant seat on the office of the President General” and he remains the authentic President General
He however expressed gratitude to the Ecclesiastical Fathers, the body of Bishops and Arch Bishops, for their unflinching devotional efforts in the entire South East to bring peace and unity in Igboland within the two factions with a resounding painstaking recommendations that was ignored by South East Governors.
On the endorsement of Governor Hope Uzodimma for his second term bid, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo president General took exception of the action of the group described it as the violation of Imo Charter of Equity.
He said that the APC extraction of Elders Council lacks the mandate of the people of the state to do what they did.
He said: “they did that to satisfy their paymasters and selfish interest otherwise they would have maintained the Charter of Equity adding that if they are sincere with good intentions for the people of the state, they would have asked Governor Uzodimma not to run for a second term since his zone produced both former Governors, Achike Udenwa and Rochas Okorocha respectively”.
He therefore enjoined the good people of the state to discountenance the purported endorsement by elders of APC extraction, and exercise their civic responsibilities appropriately as their conscience may permits in accordance of the law
