Nigeria’s 2023 Polls: Social Democratic Party Calls For Issues Based Campaign

One of the Nigeria’s opposition party, Social Democratic Party, (SDP) has called for issue based campaign and a level playing field during electioneering campaign ahead of 2023 elections.

The Director General of the SDP presidential campaign council, Comrade Solomon Dalung, made the appeal in Abuja while addressing Newsmen on the state of campaigns in the party so far.

Comrade Dalung expressed concern about the spate of attacks and violence during campaign rallies, noting that urgent solution be explored to address it.

“2023 is a critical year for the existence of Nigeria, our people should elect a credible candidate in 2023”, he noted.

Comrade Dalung noted that attacks on Electoral body’s facilities in some parts of the country were aimed at creating fear and aparthy among voters.

He explained that, the SDP Presidential Candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, remains the best among the candidates seeking the office of the President, adding that he has the practical solution to Nigeria’s problems.

“The almighty God will surely annoint the best candidate for us in 2023, and nothing can be done to truncate Nigeria’s democracy”, Lalung added.

He charged President Muhammadu Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission to write their names in gold by conducting a credible, free and fair polls in 2023.

Comrade Solomon Dalung also used the opportunity to rule out the possibility of the Presidential Candidate stepping down, stating that it will be treasonable for him to do so.
