Biafra, IPoB, yesterday, warned traditional rulers, presidents general of town unions , and politicians in the South–East, against selling or ceding off their ancestral lands to any government, their agents or terrorists’ herdsmen, no matter where they are coming from, or face its wrath.
IPoB alleged that agents of some governors in the South-East, working for the powers in Abuja, have been deployed to buy large expanse of lands for purported agricultural purposes, which will later be turned into herders camp, from where terrorist herdsmen would attack the people of the South-East.
IPoB, in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, titled: ‘Don’t Sell Any Community Land in Eastern Region to Terrorists’ Sympathy Government, Terrorist Herdsmen, No Matter Where They Are Coming From, or Pay Heavily for Taking Such Action’, said the warning has become imperative, following its uncovered plan to use Igbo traditional rulers, presidents general, politicians, real estate agencies and other political jobbers in the southeast to acquire lands for RUGA hiding under herdsmen, to attack the people of the region.
IPoB’s statement read: “The global movement and noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, detained in solitary confinement in the DSS custody and Abuja, wish to inform Biafrans, friends of Biafra, lovers of Biafra freedom, all the Traditional Rulers and Presidents General in Biafra land that we have discovered another way to attack our people through acquisition of land for a purported agricultural project, which is actually from where our people will be attacked.
“Traditional Rulers, Presidents General, politicians, Real Estate agencies and other political jobbers in southeast should desist from any plan or pressure to either sell or hand over our ancestral lands to any government or Fulani agents for any purported agricultural purposes or anything else, which we knew is an avenue to attack and kill our people.
“This warning has become very necessary and is mainly for all Igbo Traditional Rulers, Presidents General, politicians, Real Estate agencies, and other political jobbers in Biafraland. They should desist from any attempt to secretly allocate community lands to Fulani herdsmen in the name of agricultural investment that will turn to be the site where attackers and kidnappers of our people will be taking off from for their evil agenda.
“The marauding terrorists masquerading as herdsmen are not coming for any agricultural business but rather, to occupy the land with their cattle and subsequently invite their terrorist relatives to occupy our ancestral lands in their land grabbing agenda and from there, be unleashing terror on our people.
“Anyone after this warning that goes ahead to sell lands to these invaders, and we get wind of it should bear in mind that we cannot allow the buyers or their agents to operate on such land. The owner of the sold land will forfeit that land forever and will be dealt with as an individual or group.
“If anyone has any ongoing negotiations on land sale to the Fulani or their cronies in government in the South East, we advise such persons or people to discontinue with such arrangements. We cannot hand over our ancestral lands to invaders whose agenda is land grabbing in disguise and killing and violent takeover of our land.”
IPoB urged those who do not understand its allegation, to study the history of the Hausa. “We urge those who do not understand what we are preventing to study the history of the Hausa in the Northern part of Nigeria.
“We must preserve our generations and not destroy them like some ethnic groups did because of the selfishness and greed of their leaders. If after all the education from our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPoB and you selfishly go ahead to mortgage our race, IPOB leaders won’t allow you to go free”.
