Osun-YGD President, Hon Gbenga Ajayi Congratulate Adeleke On Electoral Victory, Applauds The Youths

The President of Osun Youth For Good Governance And Democracy, Honourable Gbenga Ajayi has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke on his emergence as the Governor-elect in the July 16 governorship poll.

The Youth President, who had warned against electoral malpractice and violence prior to the election, expressed satisfaction that the election was a very peaceful one in the history of the state.

It was reported that Independent National Electoral Commission declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adeleke, the winner of the election.

In a statement by himself made available to the press on Tuesday 19th July, 2022, Honourable Ajayi congratulated the Governor-elect and urged him to work with the youths to reposition Osun State from the ruins of the  present administration.

The statement partly read, “Revolutionary greetings to all stakeholders, Executive Officers, comrades and the entire youths.

“It is with great pleasure and joy that we address the entirety of all Osun Youth in the state on the just-concluded governorship election.

“As Youths, we trooped out in our numbers and voted in the right candidate of our choice and as well observed the most peaceful election so far in the history of Osun state.

“I  thank and salute all the entire members of Osun Youth For Good Governance and Democracy for their doggedness, hard work and Commitment. There is no doubt that each and everyone of you, contributed and played a major role in the victory of Senator Ademola Adeleke,” he said.

“Unbehalf of the Osun Youths, i want to congratulate Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke on his emergence as the duly elected Governor of Osun State. I wish him well in this new journey, and as well implore him to embrace the Youths ’ constituency.”

The Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, announced that Adeleke got a total of 403,371 votes beating the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, who got 375,027 votes in a keenly contested race.
