Vote buying is not fundamentally new to Nigeria’s electoral politics, since the return of democracy to Nigeria in May 1999, vote-buying has steadily grown in scale and brazenness. It’s going to be another round of election year where voters will be entice either through cash or via material things. The Presidential aspirant of the Social Democratic Party {SDP} has urged voters to shun the act and to protect their Voters card which he described as a tools for the masses during the election

if you sell your vote to a particular party’s candidate and such candidate emerged ‘victorious’ you will not have the moral right to challenge such candidate if he or she fails to deliver dividends of democracy and promises made during election the Prince Adewole Advised Nigerians.

EaglesPath online reports that during an interview with journalist in Abuja, the Ondo-born politician acknowledges the power of the ordinary man with his voter’s card, he said: “The voters in Nigeria do not know the power bestowed on them by the reason of their PVCs”.

Adewole a passionate politician who hopes for a total turnaround continued by saying “We need to talk to our people. What I have observed in recent elections is that a lot of people went to sell their votes. If for instance the people who have the power to vote to throw away their power and sell it for N3,000.00, why would such people blame politicians if such politicians fail to deliver on their electioneering? I think that same way people will be reluctant to sell their children, reluctant to sell their school certificates, the same way they should be reluctant or even rule out the idea of selling their votes.

In conclusion, he urges Nigerians to pray for a free and fair election, he also urge ordinary Nigerians to participate fully in the electioneering process.
