Youthful President In 2023: NYCN, AYCF Holds A Closed Door And Strategic Meeting With Asari-Dokubo

The President of National Youth Council of Nigeria Amb Sukubo Saraigbe Sukubo, the President of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum Yerima Shetima and other youth leaders across the country had a closed door and strategic meeting with Alhaji Asari Dokubo to discuss on the way forward of the Nigerian youth mandate to produce youthful Candidate in 2023 Presidential election.

Hotmedia.ng had earlier reported on the 17th of January, 2022 that the president of National council of Nigeria, NYCN Amb Sukubo Sara-igbe Sukubo called on the Nigerian youth to support and elect a youthful president in 2023 general election. The youthful Candidate must be person who is below 55 Years of age”. Amb Sukubo stated.

He maintained that 2023 general election is the new dawn for the youth to take over the leadership of Nigeria, completely and totally from the hands of old Bridge and reposition it for global competition and development.

The Nigerian Youth president call on the Nigerian Youth to take this opportunity of youth Mandate to participate and contribute their quota in the Nation building and governance of this country, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN President, Amb Sukubo said, as earlier reported by Hotmedia.ng

President, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Yerima Shettima, on earlier reports ruled out the possibility of supporting any presidential aspirant who is above the age of 60 ahead of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

According to Alh Yerima Shetima, President Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, the youths in the northern region would go with the position of a former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), that Nigerians should look inward for a younger person as their president come 2023.

Yerima, who spoke earlier in Kaduna during an interactive session with journalists said categorically that, only presidential aspirants who are in their 40s and 50s would be supported irrespective of the region they come from.

“We have made our position very clear that we will not pitch our tent with any old generation. This is not because it is not their right to contest, but you can be rest assured that we will only campaign for young generations. Yerima Shetima noted.

According to AYCF, President “Anything from 60 is old. We will be looking forward to those that are in their 40s and 50s. “We have been sensitising the youth on those who have been recycling themselves over and over again without being able to provide answers to our issues. Alhaji Shetima revealed

Ahead of 2023, Alhaji Asari-Dokubo has said the youth in Nigeria must step forward and take power from the older generation.

Asari made the remark while backing former military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, remark on the age bracket of Nigeria’s next president.

Reacting, Dokubo said the older generation of leaders have failed, hence the youths should rise up.

The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, NDPSF spoke, in a video on his Facebook page where he blamed Nigeria’s challenges on bad leadership caused by the older politicians.

He also urged the youths to unite and pick those who can bring about change in Nigeria.

According to Dokubo: “The younger generation must step forward now and take power. Power is not given, power is taken.

“We have to look beyond their shoulders for much younger people to take over leadership positions, and correct the wrongs and the stagnation that the black race has been put into.

“For Ibrahim Babangida, I say thank you for the first time, for saying what will change and totally revolutionise the face of politics in this part of the world. Asari – Dokubo, said.

So, for us, young people, we should come together, and identify those of us who are capable of leading this change. This is the time.” noted by Alhaji Asari – Dokubo.

So the trio youth leaders strongly believes and are seriously working on the emergence of youthful president come 2023. According to a report after the closed-door meeting of the Nigerian youth leaders, they have started strategic planning and consultation on how to actualise the youth Mandate in 2023, to elect a youthful Candidate as Nigerian president.
