In the quest to add value and diversify the economy of our dear state Ebonyi, the Special Assistant on Solid Minerals to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Hon Ozoemena Njoku who has been interfacing with different ministries and organizations to see how they can collaborate to achieve the goals of His Execllency Chief Engr David Nweze Umahi of a viable and a well developed state through value addition to the natural / mineral resources deposits in the State, on 7th October 2021 visited Coordinator, Raw Material Research and Development Council, Ebonyi State.
Stating why he visited, the Special Assistant on Solid Minerals after introduction and appreciation to the coordinator for his hospitality went on to state the reason why his visit became pertinent.
“The essence of this visit is to see how economic value can be added to the Mineral Resources God has blessed Ebonyi State with so that the state will experience more development especially now that we have a governor who has the zeal to make the state a Paradise and a reference point when discussing development”. He said.

He solicited for a collaboration with the Ministry in other to attract the Feeder Government intervention so as to take these minerals to a level where it will be more useful to the state and the country at large.
Reacting to his submissions the Coordinator, Raw Materials Research and Development Council Ebonyi State Dr. Ogaraku Toniaustin Chukwuemeka commended him (the SA) stating that he is very apt in discharging his duties especially as it concerns the reaching out to people, offices and ministries that has connection with what he is trying to do.
He said that the Council has the mission which is to promote the development and optimal utilization of natural /mineral resources for industrial developments. Ebonyi State is blessed with so many natural/mineral resources that is still untapped and if necessary measures are taken to bring in value addition to them, it will go further to enhance the drive of the state governor to industrialize the state.
“We all are partners in progress and key to the success of the governor’s vision,
this is a government establishment, our headquarters is in Abuja and we have a Director General/ Chief Executive Prof. Ibrahim who is always out to partner with any state government in terms of developing the mineral resources or raw materials in that state”.
The co-ordinator further states that for the council to come in, they will be a kind of a proposal which will be submitted and “we shall collaborate with your ministry to pursue it and you back it up with a visit to the headquarters. Thank you once again for this beautiful move” he concluded.
