Breaking News: Third Bomb Explosion Hits Afghanistan Airport, 80 Dead, 140 Injured

Two suicide bombers and gunmen reportedly attacked crowds of Afghanistan citizens who were desperate to reach the Kabul Airport on Thursday following the ongoing airlifting process by the United States of America after the Taliban’s takeover of government in the country.

It was a sad day in Afghanistan today as a third bomb strike exploded at the Kabul Airport.

Two suicide bombers and gunmen reportedly attacked crowds of Afghanistan citizens who were desperate to reach the Kabul Airport on Thursday following the ongoing airlifting process by the United States of America after the Taliban’s takeover of government in the country.

At least 80 persons lost their lives while 140 others sustained serious injuries.

According to US officials, over 12 US service members were among the dead, including eleven Marines, one Navy medic, and 15 injured.

The total number of victims was yet to be ascertained as the US officials warned about a possible rise in the tow.

Meanwhile, various reactions have started coming up as world leaders took to their social media pages to condemn the sad incident.

The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guteres in his reaction, said, “I’m following with grave concern the situation at Kabul’s airport and strongly condemn today’s horrific terrorist attack.

“The incident underscores the volatility of Afghanistan, but also strengthens our resolve as we continue to deliver urgent assistance to the Afghan people.”

A Texas Governor in the United State, Greg Abott, also decried the present situation in Kabul saying “What we’re witnessing in Kabul right now is an absolute tragedy. Brave U.S. Marines and soldiers sacrificed everything to protect innocent lives and defend our nation’s principles of freedom and liberty for all. Their families are left grieving the heartbreaking loss of a loved one.
