The Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs and Member representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid El Kabir celebration.
While urging the faithful to look beyond the ceremonies associated with the occasion to make sacrifices that will benefit their neighbours and mankind in general, the lawmaker said it is only by so doing that the very lesson of the Eid will be appreciated by all.

In a release personally signed by himself, which was made available to the media in his National Assembly office through his Special Adviser Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Nkem Anyata-Lafia.
The Adamawa- born politician and farmer extolled the peaceful co- existence that has for several years now defined the relationship between the adherents of the two major faiths in Nigeria, observing that Nigerians have become not only wiser, but aware that peace is a sine qua non for the kind of over- all development Nigeria needs in its match to optimum nationhood and to take its pride of place among the nations of the world.

“To achieve the greatness that has always beckoned to us as a people,the need to shun such parochial considerations as tongue and faith cannot be over-empasised.
Great nations evolve through commitment to great ideals,peace and hard work. Nigeria has the potential for greatness by all standards and it is the aggregate sum of the little efforts and commitment to progressive ideals and actions that everyone us makes daily as a member of this union that will make us realise the nation of our fondest dreams.

All of these start, first, by our commitment to love one another and to stay united in peace; for peace begets progress.
“This year’s celebration of the Eid El Kabir offers us yet another opportunity for sober reflection on how much we do to promote peace and unity in our corner of our country through very simple acts of sacrifice and tolerance of one another’s misgivings,all of which go a long way at erasing our fault- lines,” the Political Scientist and Author emphasised.

Buba, who used the occasion of his Sallah Message to pray for an event- free celebration across the country and the world at large,also, enjoined those that are more privileged to share with others whatever they have to eat and to drink.
He re-iterated that the essence of the Eid is to achieve an all-encompassing joy for mankind in the knowledge that Allah (SWT),who provided the material for sacrifice to His servant, Ibrahim, against the willingness to use his son, has more than enough in stock for everyone that obeys His commands and precepts. He also called on all to continue to observe the simple rules for COVID 19 prevention, stressing that the third- wave incursion of the pandemic is real.
Earlier in the week ,the lawmaker had commenced the commemoration of the yearly Muslim feast with the traditional donation and distribution of rams and other gifts to friends, religious leaders, traditional leaders as well as senior Party stakeholders within and outside his Constituency.
