The Report of the Committee on Health Institutions on a Bill for an Act to establish the Federal Medical Centre, Hong, Adamawa State; and for other related Matters, Wednesday,went through consideration in the House of Representatives.

The Bill, sponsored by the Member representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt.Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, apart from seeking to establish the Federal Medical Centre, Hong,also aims at providing legal framework for its due management and administration.
Speaking to newsmen at the National Assembly after today’s event at Plenary, Buba commended the action of his colleagues,who he said did the needful in support of an idea that has the buy- in of many across Adamawa State.

The lawmaker, who is also Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House,said it would be a thing of joy for the Senate to expeditiously offer its concurrence to the Bill for its onward transmission to Mr. President for his assent.
It will be recalled that many stakeholders from Adamawa State and the neighbouring States had during the Public Hearing for the Bill ,which was held in the House of Representatives a few months ago,supported the idea of establishing a Federal Medical Centre from the upgraded facilities of the General Hospital, Hong, while recognising that Government has done its best to prepare the health facility in the place for a new status and role.
