Seven policemen were feared killed after some unknown gunmen on Friday night, May 7, attacked security checkpoints and police stations in Rivers state.

The report we had that the hoodlums attacked a police station along the Rumuji axis of the East-West Road in the state.
Hotmedia.ng gathers that they also set the police station and some vehicles on fire with two operatives feared killed. They also attacked the Rumuji police station.
Thy also attacked a police checkpoint at Ogbakiri junction with two policemen feared killed and a vehicle burnt.
A checkpoint of the security outfit called C-4-i along the East-West Road was also attacked, with three operatives feared killed there.
The spokesman of the state’s police command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the attack but said he would make details available after visiting the areas attacked.
