In a press conference, the groups released a statement of resolution to the journalists and signed by Alh Yusuf Musa Ador, National President, Christian and Muslim Youth Wallidira Fulani Initiatives Coalition Nigeria and Igwe Martins, For Peace and Orientation
The groups statement reads – development in our polity calls for conscious effort of Nigerians to redefine the statusquo, change the narrative and stop succumbing to the whims and comprises of crises entrepreneurs whose business strives when the Nation is in serious crisis.
It is a general truth that many years ago, the Fulanis with numerical strength in sub Sahara Africa, dominate and largely remain source of agricultural activities, craft and art put in place by the dynasty of Usman Dan Fodio. After hours of deliberation with Civil Societies selected from different Zones of Nigeria we arrived at the following resolutions:

(1) Call for immediate halt of killing innocent Fulanis and other ethnic Nationalities nationwide and redouble efforts in eliminating criminal elements, bandits that has distracted governance and continuously threatening the peace and Unity of Nigeria. The Fulanis are not criminals, there are Criminal elements in all tribes in Nigeria, hence profiling Fulani as criminal is bad, unacceptable and premeditated to exacerbate conflict nationwide, we demand for a law stopping ethnic profiling of Fulanis/Herders and any other tribe/groups in Nigeria.
(2) Wallidira Fulani Peace Initiative and other Civil Society groups appeals to Federal Ministry of Agriculture to review and implement recommendations to Agricultural Ministry and provide social amenities to herders and farmers as education will play a long role in eradicating the conflict between farmers and herders.
(3) While we appreciate Security agencies who sacrifice their lives by paying the supreme price on daily basis we reiterate the urgency of strengthening community police policy in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria, training of the security agencies in line with Global best practices, provision of modern equipment’s, establishing strong mutual trust between police civil societies and communities is now critical alternative necessary to change the present ugly narratives.

(4) Wallidira and CSO call for immediate dissolution of Amotekun, Ebubeagu, Northern Security outfit, Local Vigilante Groups. If Governments can finance regional security outfit they can contribute to enhance the capacity of United, Coordinated Security where these regional will work for the same common purpose of safeguarding the Nation and her territorial integrity.
(5) Finally, we appeal to President Buhari, Vice-President, Senate President, Speaker House of Representatives, State Governments, Security Agencies to come up with proactive strategies to overcome the avoidable present security situation as there can never be development in a society bedeviled by conflict.

The consequences which are hunger, unemployment, death, under development has no religion or tribe. It affects everybody, hence the urgent need to eliminate politics in all effort to halt the ugly trend. The best time to act is now.
